Happy 2008

I hope everyone's holiday was fun and rejuvenating.

Mine was very satisfying. With most of my clients away for the holidays, I used the time to catch up on a ton of smaller projects, including getting all the graphics ready for my band's February release (preview it here: www.Fidgital.com )

San Francisco Recording Sessions Part II

I'm back from San Francisco and recording went well. We're just listening to and polishing the mixes. Next step, I must create the album art!

San Fran Recording Sessions Part I

I'm in San Francisco for two weeks visiting Keith, Bal, and their 6 week old daughter Maya. Keith is the founder of my band "Fidgital", and for the past few months has been writing and sequencing our new album. It's the first time we've ever had to work remotely like this, but it seems to be going well.

Better and better and better.

If I haven't been blogging for a few days, it's because things are going exceptionally well with my contracting business. When I threw open my gates for regular service a few weeks ago, I had no idea I was going to be as busy as I have been.

My ugly disgusting feet. Read at your own peril.

I have incredibly ugly feet. A teenage soccer accident has left the big toe on my right foot bent at an angle, popped out of the socket, forming a large bunion. More than one person has confided in me that they thought, perhaps, I was sprouting a sixth toe. My other foot is undamaged, but that doesn't stop people from asking me how I also managed to bugger up that foot.

Contract Artist Observation #1

Today, I was reminded of the importance of labeling every little thumbnail and drawing.

Quote of the Week

I ran across this quote in a comic whilst taking a squat this morning. "The tradition of all the dead generations weighs like a nightmare on the brain of the living." - Karl Marx.  Excellent!

Hero. Me.

Did I mention my act of heroism when I was in Lethbridge? My unwavering bravery in the face of danger? How I saved three people from a raging house-fire? Oh no? Oh!

Which Office Today?

It feels good to be back in busy, beautiful, grey Vancouver. I'm at one of my many 'offices' getting warmed up for the day's business activities. This time, it's 'Our Town' cafe on Kingsway and Broadway.

Sicamous Labour-Day Long Weekend

I'm returning to Vancouver from Sicamous, where I spent the weekend enjoying yet another cabin retreat. I've been on so many small trips in the past few months, I've literally lost track of them all. Magnificent landscapes and sunsets and mountain climbs and forest walks and lakes and boat rides and I can't stand it.
