I went to Writing On Stone Provincial Park yesterday. Sacred to the native Blackfoot people, once a popular place for vision quests, it features some of the most otherworldly terrain you're likely to have ever seen.

I've spent most of August in Alberta with my family. My ten year old nephew asked me how I "draw so good", so I told him to draw for thirty years. I was only just mostly serious, but I don't think he grasped the subtleties of my advice. Now, after a few simple exercises, he draws like any of the great masters.

Artists! Allow me to relate to you. How many times have you heard the following, in exactly this form?

"How do you draw like that? I can't even draw a stick man!"

A recent commission: my friend Silver as the sultry Jessica Rabbit from the film "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?". I'm confident Silver will be happy with her portrayal, but you never know. After years of caricature-making, I've learned that it can oft end friendships or worse.
